New Mix CD start

OK SO I have had a concept for a mix cd for while now but with the Jazz Addixx and several other projects Ive had my hands on...... I havent had the time to put my 100% into things. Today is a new day and with this day begins the start of my new Mix Cd. Im really amped about this one!!!! Stay tuned for more!

Airman Ragz Reports as ordered!

Airman Dj Ragz USAF 1992 - 1996. On some non-musical info, yes I did serve in the US Air Force. When I first joined the Air Force it was not for my country. I was headed in the wrong direction and I needed some more discipline, guidance and an income. My parents were great parents but I was beyond stubborn and just had to figure out life on my own. I had a lack of respect for society and did not understand really how life worked. I was terrible at school, in fact so terrible that I had to get my diploma at a night school. I knew I needed change. When I got to basic training I had a really tough time with it because of all the bad decisions I was making in High School. I didnt think I was going to make it and there were several nights of crying under the covers when it was bed time. When I graduated basic training I got to text school as a Financial Services Specialist. This was a whole new challenge because we had freedom and I was in school to learn a trade (accounting), something that I was very very bad at. Luckily I concentrated 100% and studied more than anyone else in my graduating class. I knew that if I messed up my opportunity in the Air Force I would be faced with a grim outlook mentally. I had to do this so I pushed through and graduated. My first assignment was a 15 month tour in Lajes Field, Azores, which is a group of islands 800 miles off the coast of portugal. When I got to this job I really struggled because my lack of caring about learning and this really made it difficult. I took was I learned in text school and applied it and once I started focusing and concentrating in my field I started to stop thinking about myself so much and I started to excel. Around the same time I started to see how life worked and how much the Air Force taught me. During this time, I started to see what our country is about. Our country is about opportunity and creating destiny. Once I realized this, I fell in love with my country and yes, I would have put it on the line for my country. Our country is a great nation. Don't get me wrong, Ive been to Germany, Italy, Spain and I love those areas, its no knock to other countries. I just love where Im from and I want to thank the Military and the great people in the Military today who put it on the line for us everyday. Real Talk 2012

Ok so here I am and its 2012 and OOOOOO how time flies! I Have just accepted a job with beatrefinery.com in the Herndon VA area which is nice because its close to home. I will be teaching beginner/intermediate/advacne levels of mixing and scratching. I am so honored to be a part of this music school and I am excited to teach others what it is that I am so geeked about. To be honest, I will never be at the level I want to be at and I am still learning on the daily. So come on out if your trying to get on the decks and we will learn together. 2012 started out to be a tough year and it still has its challenges but Ive realized that this music stuff has kept me strong. So for me to be getting back out there from a little hiatus is great! Much love to all those out there who have had my back! Im back!!!! Your gonna hear why I say I am back when the new Jazz Addixx LP drops!

RIP to Big Cat

Andre "Big Cat" Catlett passed Yesterday.. he fought cancer for over 10 years . the Lord called him home. Big Cat was a guy who I used to hang out with alot when I lived in Fredericksburg and I also did quite a few songs with him over the years. You will be missed Dre, Love you man! Dre was such a strong person and went out with honor! You will never be forgotten!

Happy New Years! 2012

Happy new years to everyone! I guess I have been slacking on my duties on this website. One of my new years resolutions is to keep this site updated. There is alot going on in life right now. I am moving back to the DMV area in a couple of weeks. Its perfect timing since the Jazz Addixx album is being wrapped up and I am back in the studio working on my solo LP. I have been living in Fayetteville NC for the last year and I have enjoyed this area, but I think the DMV is a better fit for me. Going to make 2012 the year of changes............ Here is a list of what I have in store for the year........

4. Going to enter the DC DMC dj Battle (yes, the vet is stepping away from the Judging table and getting back behind the wheels)
5. Work with stmic on a LP

8. Do Cuts for Ave to.
9. Get up with K Murdock on Panacea and finally get in the studio with that guy!
10.Get with Idee about learning and developing some newer styles

12.Hollar at Ox the Architect about a few songs
